A Londoner’s musings on design in everyday Colombian life
Organica en el cielo
On 05, Jun 2013 | No Comments | In Bogotá, Private Places | By ClaireGuilloton
Organica en el cielo is a restaurant located in front of La Calera’s village. I am doing an article about them because after only 7 months of being opened, as well as having an amazing view over the mountains, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is quite nice.
Their facebook page and website.
The only problem I would say is that it’s located close to a big factory…but it’s worth going!
Photos taken with iPhone 5. Thanks Hugo and Sibylle for this delicious invitation.

Antique in Bogotá
On 28, May 2013 | No Comments | In Bogotá, Interior Design, Tourism | By ClaireGuilloton
Discovered a street in Bogotá specialised in antiques. It’s beautiful and calm with a dozen of antique shops to visit.
Some are beautiful and you can find things for a reasonable price, not like in Europe. Colombians, in general, don’t like so much old things. At least much less than Europeans. Cultural.
Thanks Anna for the visit!

Every two weeks, Arawak is in the market of Usaquén! They will be there on Sundays, every two weeks. They have 3 different types of excellent Colombian coffees.
I am happy to present them there:
Karina and Vincent, the owners of Arawak.

ABX S.A.S.

The other day, I went to visit Mabel, who is designer in a company that creates clothes in Bogotá for big providers.
It was lovely to see all the process to make something that we are wearing everyday and we always take for granted. And to see how it works in Bogotá for Colombians.
Thanks a lot Mabel and your team for the visit. If you are interested to do some projects with ABX, please contact mabel.amaya@abxsas.com.
The company is located in my favourite place of Bogotá: El Ricaurte, where you can print everything you want.
A little walk close to La Sierra
On 21, May 2013 | No Comments | In Tourism | By ClaireGuilloton
Close to La Casa Grande, you can go and visit around. Very near is the path that leads to La cuidad perdida, a quite difficult walk of 4 days in the forest if I’m not wrong.
Anyway, we went to visit the water falls called Valencia’s. Quite a lot of people were visiting them.
Thanks again Erwan for the pictures.
La casa grande

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel-beach that was very simple but fantastic. We were alone facing the sea the whole day. Adorable people looking after us.
I really recommend this place for those who are more happy with beauty and calm than luxuary: La casa grande.
Gracias Gaudi por la dirección.
Tayrona

Another very popular place in Colombia: the park of Tayrona.
With its amazing beaches, the park is a beautiful protected place where you can find all sorts of animals and plants. There are a lot of things to see in the park and it’s worth staying a couple of days.
You can get there walking, riding horses or by boat. (We took the last option).
Thanks Erwan for the pictures.
